Air France to lose 5,000 jobs by 2013

Air France has announced it is to shed 5,000 jobs by 2013, equal to a tenth of its workforce, in the French carrier's latest bid to return to profit.

Air France said it needs to shed over 5,000 jobs, or around 10% of its workforce, by the end of 2013, the latest in a round of restructuring and job losses at major European carriers as they fight to restore profitability, reports The Wall Street Journal.
