Haim Korsiasaid France's Jewish population was struck by a new 'sense of indifference' in society shown during recent anti-Semitic incidents.

The rabbi, accused of plagiarising other authors for his book, Forty Jewish Meditations, " apologised" and resigned with immediate effect. 

Rabbi Gilles Bernheim admitted plagiarizing parts of a book on Jewish meditations and committing moral errors but said he would not step down.
