    The Parents of Joanna Parrish, a 20-year-old student raped and murdered by Michel Fourniret, have sharply criticised the competence of French police investigations into the late serial killer during a press conference they gave after returning home from the trial in Fance of Fourniret's ex-wife Monique Olivier, who was this week found guilty taking part in the murders of two women, including Joanna, and a nine-year-old girl.

    In a statement issued shortly before French foreign minister Catherine Colonna arrived in Tel Aviv on Sunday for talks with her Israeli counterpart Eli Cohen, her ministry announced she would call for a truce in the Israel-Hamas war and for 'a lasting ceasefire with the aim of releasing all hostages and delivering aid to Gaza'.
