Macron says Trump ‘not a classical politician’

French President Emmanuel Macron, speaking in a television interview with the BBC, said he shared the outrage of African countries after US President Donald Trump reportedly described Central American and African nations as ‘shithole countries’ at a White House meeting with lawmakers earlier this month.

French President Emmanuel Macron, in an interview with the BBC broadcast on Sunday, criticised US President Donald Trump over his alleged comments that some Central American and African nations were “shithole countries”, adding that Trump is not a “classical politician”.  
Macron, who insisted he had a “direct, very good” relationship with the US president, said many problems in the Middle East and Africa are “due to a lot of frustrations” and “past humiliations” and called for respectful dealings between countries.
