Heavy rainfall causes flooding in southern France


Repairs and cleaning operations began Monday after weekend storms across a swathe of S. France damaged roads, flooded streets and swept cars away.

Heavy rains hit the south of France over the weekend. The town of Lodève, near Montpellier, in the Hérault region, was swamped by muddy water and a nearby highway partly collapsed, reports Radio France Internationale.
