Man shot dead at French naturist beach

A 76-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of shooting dead another man at a naturist lakeside beach near the south-east city of Lyon.

A 46-year-old sunbather has been shot dead after an argument at a famous naturist beach on the outskirts of Lyon, reports The Times.

A 76-year-old man, also a naturist, was arrested by a police bicycle patrol without a struggle. La Mama beach, the naturist zone of the Miribel-Jonage park, is about 20 miles from the city centre and at a lake by the Rhône.

Witnesses said that the older man, a regular visitor to the site, shot the victim at least three times after a dispute on Saturday morning. It was claimed that the younger man had shouted insults at beachgoers and performed a sex act while staring at a woman.
