Two young children have been shot dead at a train station in northern France, reports The National.
The attack is not being treated as related to terrorism.
At around 11.30am, a woman and two children, who are believed to be aged between three and five-years-old, were attacked inside Noyon train station.
It is reported that the children and the woman, who is believed to be their mother, were trying to leave the city.
The gunman is believed to be the children’s father, according to local press. It is understood that after the attack the gunman turned the weapon on himself.
“'I climbed the stairs leading to the platforms when I heard shots,” said a witness who did not wish to be named.
“I saw four bodies on the ground. I then took a little girl with me to put her in safety.
