French legislative elections: socialists join broad-Left alliance

The French Socialist Party has agreed in principle, ahead of a final decision by its national committee, to engage in June's parliamentary elections as part of a leftwing alliance led by the radical-left LFI party and which also includes the Greens and communists.

France’s socialist party and the radical-left La France Insoumise (LFI) party led by Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who came third in last month's presidential elections, have reached an agreement in principle to form an alliance for June’s parliamentary elections, reports The Guardian.

This system, intended for non-subscribed users, requires the input of an email address to access the relevant content.
