Strong winds and violent seas are expected along the French Atlantic and Mediterraneancoasts, reports Radio France Internationale.

Strong seas are forecast in the Atlantice coast départements (counties) of Finistère, Morbihan, Loire-Atlantique, Vendée, Landes, Charente-Maritime, Gironde, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, and the Mediterranean départements of the Var and Bouches-du-Rhône, and around Corsica.

“Active stormy conditions are travelling through the country, from the south-west to north-east,” said the Météo France weather service.

“On the Atlantic coast, strong wings that have strengthened overnight will last into daytime on Monday,” said the French forecaster.

“Heavy waves in this high tides period are expected in the afternoon,” it added.
