French director Nicolas Bedos faces probe after rape allegation

A preliminary investigation into rape and sexual assault was opened in Paris on July 5 to examine three separate complaints from women involving the filmmaker.

A preliminary investigation into rape and sexual assault was opened on July 5 to examine three separate complaints from women involving director Nicolas Bedos, the Paris prosecutor’s office announced on Tuesday July 18, confirming information by Mediapart, reports the Globe Echo.

According to the investigation site, which collected several testimonies, the prosecution received, at the end of June, the “report of several women". One of them was heard by the investigators on July 4, a second must be heard on July 21, writes Mediapart again. Solicited through his lawyer, Mr Bedos did not wish to comment.
