The city of Paris has opened its annual urban beach along the river Seine for tourists and locals to enjoy a bit of the seaside in the city, reports Solar News.

Like every year, the beach is complete with palm trees, deck chairs, and umbrellas and spans over three kilometers through the heart of Paris.

The beach, called 'Paris Plages' also features activities for children - a big hit for Paris residents who are spending their summer holidays in the city.

"It's a change, there is sand, there's the Seine, there's the setting - Paris, it's pretty, it's a pretty neighborhood so it's nice to come here. The weather is good, not too hot for the moment so we're making the most of it. If it gets too hot this afternoon, we'll go to the shops," said Isabelle who was at the beach with her daughter.
