Air France said Tuesday that a looming cabin crew strike should have limited impact on its flights, reports MarketWatch.
The carrier said 37% of Air France cabin crew are expected to strike on July 27th, the first day of disruptions that are planned to continue to August 2nd.
Air France said it expects to operate 92% of long-haul flights and 90% of domestic services. Less than 20% of the medium-haul service should be grounded, the airline said.
Flights operated by KLM, the Dutch arm of parent Air France-KLM, would not be affected. Services operated by regional affiliate HOP! and alliance partner Delta Air Lines also would continue as planned.
Air France said it was offering passengers the right to change their flight plans during the period.
The carrier has been battling unions to cut costs to better compete against lower-cost rivals. Pilots walked off the job in June over proposed changes in employment terms, costing the airline about 40 million euros ($44 million). Another pilot strike was scrapped after new Chief Executive Jean-Marc Janaillac suspended a cost-cutting plan.
