French authorities in southwest France on Sunday detained six people suspected of involvement in a jihadi network, reports FRANCE 24.
The Sunday morning sweep around the cities of Toulouse and Albi was the latest of several targeting suspected radicals since last month's terror attacks in Paris that left 17 people dead.
A source close to the investigation said the suspects are believed to have handled questionable money transfers and recruited candidates to wage jihad.
Investigators are also looking to see if some of them went to Syria, said the source, who requested anonymity.
In a statement, interior minister Bernard Cazeneuve said that Sunday’s raids followed a probe opened in January 2013 into "conspiracy to commit a terrorist act and financing of terrorism."
Cazeneuve did not indicate whether there was any link between those arrested and the gunmen behind the January 7-9 attacks in the French capital.
