Egyptian Olympic wrestler arrested over alleged sexual assault

Mohamed 'Kesho' Ibrahim El-Sayed, 26, a Greco-Roman wrestler with the Egyptian delegation at the Olympic Games in Paris, was arrested early on Friday in the 13th arrondissement of the French capital after he was accused of sexually assaulting a client at the Café Oz rooftop bar.

Egyptian Olympic wrestler Mohamed 'Kesho' Ibrahim has been arrested in Paris for an alleged sexual assault, reports BBC News.

The Paris prosecutor's office released a statement saying: "On August 9 around 5am, a man born in March 1998 in Egypt who was a wrestler in the Olympic delegation was arrested in front of the Oz café."

It is understood he was arrested for allegedly touching the buttocks of another customer at the café.

The Egyptian Olympic Committee (EOC) named Kesho, who won a bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Games, as the team member who had been arrested.

The EOC added he will be investigated by its ethics committee and could face a life ban from competition.
