French secondary schools to ban access to mobile phones

As of the start of the new academic year in September, French 'collèges' - secondary schools for 11- to 15-year-olds - will require pupils to lock away their mobile phones during school hours following the reported success of local trials.

France is to tighten its ban on the use of mobile phones in middle schools, making pupils at the ages of 11 to 15 shut away their devices in a locker or pouch at the start of the day and access them again only as they are leaving, reports The Guardian.

We use the Qiota service from Opper Marketing Suite to configure the activation of a datawall on certain content (available only on the website). This system, intended for non-subscribed users, requires the input of an email address to access the relevant content. By providing this information, the user consents to its collection, storage, and use for statistical purposes. In accordance with the applicable regulations, users have the right to access, rectify, and delete their data, which they can exercise by contacting dpo@opper.io.
