Macron’s chief of staff Alexis Kohler to quit Elysée for banking

The president's key aide Alexis Kohler will depart in mid-April and be replaced by Emmanuel Moulin, a senior civil servant.

French president Emmanuel Macron's longtime chief of staff, Alexis Kohler, is leaving his post for a job at the French bank Société Générale, according to three sources familiar with his recruitment, reports Politico.

Société Générale was expected to issue a statement regarding the hire on Friday.

Kohler's departure, first reported by Le Figaro, is set to take place in mid-April.

Kohler began working with Macron when he was economy minister and has been by the president's side since his election in 2017.
