French troops to take up station close to Libyan border


A senior French military official has said troops are to move to a desert outpost close to the Libyan border to obstruct arms trafficking.

France is moving troops toward the Libyan border within weeks and, along with US intelligence, is monitoring al-Qaeda arms shipments to Africa’s Sahel region, a top French military official said Thursday, reports The Washington Post.
