A French court has ordered one of France's wealthiest men to give a DNA sample to establish if he is the father of the daughter of France's former justice minister, reports The Guardian.
Dominique Desseigne, a businessman, has said he would decline a test because he claimed Rachida Dati had numerous partners before their relationship.
Dati,47, had refused to name the father of her daughter who was born when she was justice minister in 2009. But last month she told a court in Versailles that Desseigne, 68, a widower and father of two, was the father and demanded that he recognise his paternity of her daughter.
Desseigne's company owns the celebrated Parisian restaurant, Fouquet's, and dozens of hotels, casinos and restaurants. It is his right under French to law to decline a DNA test but a judge could rule against him if there were alternative sources of evidence such as letters or text messages.
