Body of British skier found at foot of cliff in French Alps

The body of British man, who has not been identified but who was reportedly aged 23, has been found at the bottom of a cliff at the popular Avoriaz ski resort in the French Alps, after what local media describe as a likely accidental fall.

A British skier has been found dead at the bottom of a cliff near the Avoriaz ski resort in the French Alps, local officials have confirmed, reports The Guardian.

The body of the 23-year-old man, who has not yet been formally identified, was found on Monday at the bottom of a cliff near the town of Morzine, in the Portes du Soleil region.

A prosecutor, Xavier Goux-Thiercelin, confirmed the death on Friday and local police forces are leading an investigation to determine the circumstances of the skier’s death.

According to local media, it is believed the man died after accidentally falling off the cliff on 16 February.
